Esta afecci\u00f3n aumenta significativamente el riesgo de formaci\u00f3n de placas ateroscler\u00f3ticas en las arterias coronarias y la aorta, lo que provoca episodios cardiovasculares prematuros como angina de pecho e infarto agudo de miocardio. El diagn\u00f3stico de la HF implica evaluaciones cl\u00ednicas y gen\u00e9ticas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El art\u00edculo presenta el caso de un adolescente asintom\u00e1tico con antecedentes familiares de enfermedad cardiovascular, incluidas muertes prematuras. Debido a los antecedentes m\u00e9dicos de la familia y a la necesidad de descartar una base gen\u00e9tica del riesgo cardiovascular, se realiz\u00f3 un perfil lip\u00eddico que revel\u00f3 niveles elevados de colesterol LDL.
